Role Responsibilities:

As a Burntsand consultant, you will be involved in designing and delivering quality solutions to a variety of clients. Your duties will include interacting with user, business and executive groups to help define the client's needs and translating those needs into a solution of value. As a partner to our clients, we do what is necessary to help them be a success. The ability to empathize with and understand the business needs of the client is one of the single most important characteristics you bring to the job as well as a great attitude toward teamwork and superb technical ability. Solve clients' website organizational information problems and requirements by gathering and analyzing requirements; liasing with clients, recommending system controls and protocols.
Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
Design new or upgraded websites by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
Interface with the development team on the design, build and customization of SharePoint solutions, contributing to development activity as required.
Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
Maintain user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Prepare technical and functional reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Investigate and recommend technical alternatives and solutions as required.
Work closely with Project Managers to develop contract deliverables, statements of work, project plans, and resourcing plans for customer implementation projects.

Role Requirements:

Understanding of business, Website Design.
Experience with Software Documentation, Software Development Process.
Experience at applying technology tools to enable business processes.
Experience with client delivery in a consulting environment.
Able to work in a team based environment demonstrating versatility in assuming different roles at different stages of a project.
Willing to travel and work at client sites as well as from our primary office in Vancouver (travel requirement estimated at 25%).
Experience with the integration of applications.
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science or related field.
Problem solving skills to help identify collaboration solution opportunities.
Work shop facilitation skills to help collaborative groups work through challenge areas.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to demonstrate solution alternatives and influence solution options selected.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a business analyst role involving complex information technology projects.
Comfort and confidence in customer facing engagements.
Effective time management skills.
Pre-sales and/or presentation experience would be an asset.
